Supernatural Kindness Is The Key to Impacting The World

I see lots of t-shirts, memes, and reminders to be kind. I’m always grateful for the sentiment. We should all be kind because the world needs kindness.

Hopefully, the kindness message reminds unkind people to change their ways. But more likely, changing unkind people requires more than a message.

Christians should be the definition of kindness. Based on God’s goodness in our lives, we should strive to be kind to others in every situation.

I love this quote: “Kindness is best when we don’t have to stop and think about it” (author unknown). This is where a walk with the Lord is important. As we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives, kindness can be a hallmark of all of our interactions and connections.

Here are a few verses that encourage incorporating kindness into our everyday actions as believers.

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

Colossians 3:12-13

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Proverbs 31:26

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Galatians 6:10

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Proverbs 19:17

Verses like these, in addition to allowing God to live in and through us, will help us be kind.

Living a kind life in a world that bombards us with annoying things isn’t easy. Always being kind is almost supernatural. That’s why we need help from God’s Holy Spirit.

I’ll be praying that our Christian kindness will impact the world around us.
