What takes you to 100,000 miles?

car-odometer-100000Due to our Harvest van situation, I’ve had to keep track of mileage on my personal vehicle over the last few weeks.  In fact, I’ve had it set on “trip” for nearly three months now.  Today,  I switched the odometer from trip to mileage reading and was shocked to see it had rolled to 100,000 miles.  What?

I’m not sure where it was three months back when I began to keep track of trips.  But those little increments added up.  It made me think about life – the daily components in life really are the essence.  Here are some thoughts:

1)  small, daily decisions makes us who we are.

2) small, daily sins is what we need to keep in check.

3) small, daily increments of learning help us develop.

4) small, grain sized faith can take it over the top.

It’s a reminder that it’s the little things that make up life.  Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. (Matthew 6:34)  We need to focus on doing what’s right today.
