Just returned home from a great trip to two churches down south. On Friday night, we spent a couple hours at a middle school lock-in leading games and music. The students at White House First UMC were a blast! And it’s always fun to get kids together at church – other than regular scheduled times – to build memories and make connections. The kids responded well to the music, the games and the message. I am grateful for Francie Trostle and her ability to engage leaders to help her in ministry. She has a heart for the students, their families and staying with it for the long haul.
Also enjoyed sharing music at New Hope UMC in Gainesville,GA on Sunday morning. It was really cool to connect with the worship team from that church during the first service and it was a joy to lead with them. I also enjoyed singing during the second service and spending time with the kids during children’s worship. A great church in a growing area. We appreciate Larry Patton and his family and their hospitality. Larry is the pastor there, but also was part of my youth group when I was younger. When I was a freshmen, I was part of a bible study that Larry Patton led. He was a senior at that time. It was good to connect with him.
The trip itself was sort of a hospitality tour and I was grateful to have my family experience it with me. We enjoyed staying with and visiting with people, connecting with ministry leaders, and having fun. Thanks Francie, Larry, Faith, Bill, Chris and Jamie! It’s always amazing to me to see just how large and active the church is in so many tiny corners of the world.
