Want to start living a life of value with more joy? Make yourself 100% available to God.

Dwight Moody is credited as saying, “The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to him. By God’s help, I aim to be that man.”

How is your commitment to worship, devotion, giving, and faithfulness? If you had to pick a number, what is your availability percentage is right now? Are you living 25% for God? Are you living 70% for the Lord? Higher? Lower?

“The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to him. By God’s help, I aim to be that man.”

Determine now to live your life 100% for God.

Are you discouraged, thinking only full-time pastors or missionaries are able to do that? Not true. Every believer can live 100% for God. Serving in full time paid, vocational ministry is like many jobs – using the computer, working, meeting, having conversations, strategizing, and making decisions; then at the end of the day, switching gears and going home to pay bills, mow the lawn, and keep track of schedules. The days stack on one another like they do for everyone else.

Side Note – This is not to downplay any calling to ministry. If God is nudging you through a process of one too many things to discount and you sense a call to serve in the church more than a volunteer can do, start praying for direction. Open your life up to an obedient yes even if you’re not sure of the next step. Be available and open through prayer to go where God leads no matter how “uphill” it may seem. Not everyone senses a desire to serve in full time ministry, so it’s worth prayerfully exploring if you are.

Thankfully, all Christians are able to make themselves 100% available to God – no matter your stage of life or where you are working, living or studying. Tune into God’s leading and see what happens.

When you’re tuned into God’s leading, you know when to pay attention to important conversations with a child, neighbor or friend as you go about your daily routine. When you’re tuned into God’s leading, your integrity sets an example to coworkers and leaders in your company or organization. When your attitude is based on the knowledge that God is in control, you will be filled with hope and joy. That’s living for God 100%.

Commit to God 100%. See how God will use it.
