Every calling to vocational ministry is unique! At the same time are there unique ministry roles that many entrepreneurial leaders feel drawn to.
I may be talking about you.
You sense a desire to launch a ministry to speak, write, sing, coach, or lead. Or it may be to begin a non-profit ministry to support work with a particular group. You may feel led to travel and serve, fund a new mission opportunity or support others who are serving in more traditional ministry settings.
This new thing may be in addition to your day job or full-time vocational ministry or it may be the start to an entirely new way of doing life.
If you desire to begin in music ministry, write a blog, start a non-profit, serve in mission, or some other role outside of traditional ministry roles, let’s connect!
Here’s my story in a nutshell.
As a senior in high school, I sensed a call to ministry. I assumed this would be pastoral ministry in a church setting and began the process. During the next couple of years, doors opened for me to serve in specialized and unique ways, mostly traveling to lead music for youth camps, churches and conferences. I went on to seminary to receive an M. Div., only to discover the door of opportunity continued to open for more unique ministry of development, training and leading!
So after graduation, I accepted a very part-time role in my home church while continuing to serve in what is now called Harvest Ministry. For more than twenty years, I have been both a part of the church in a part-time staff capacity and have served as the leader for Harvest Ministry with a mission to GO OUT to sing, serve and share the love of Jesus and to RAISE UP the next generation of ministry leaders. This ministry has spun in a full-time work of traveling, hosting conferences, recording, writing, and creating resources for ministry leaders (podcasts, blogs, etc). It’s been a joy to be both grounded in my home church and to serve the greater church as well.
Over the years I’ve had many conversations about how to begin a unique, specialized ministry.
How do you go non-profit? Should I be? How do you raise money to fund the vision? How do you get started? How do you involve others?
What’s my next step?
I hope I can helpful to you through this blog! Find out more here.
