The Light Kids Conference, Washington, IL

Last Saturday, we had the privilege of serving as the worship and leadership team for The Light Kids Conference inWashington,IL. The Light, a one day discipleship event for children in first – fifth grades, incorporates music, worship, recreation, fun Bible studies and lessons all centered around a theme. This year’s theme was The Heat Is On. The stories included Moses and the Burning Bush (The Call); Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego and the Fiery Furnace (Stand Tall) and the fire of God’s spirit that leads us and rests in us (Your All).

We are grateful to Crossroads UMC for hosting the event. The leaders did a great job there – Lori, Larry, Maureen, Sue, Tim and Trevor!   There were 300 children and children’s ministry leaders in attendance! The Bible Buzz time was led by Amy Bowman. The Harvest Team for the weekend was Tyler Lynn (drums), Joe Kraudel (bass), Chase Weber (guitar), Kim Przybylski (vocals); Katie Murbarger (media), and James Deming (drama).  We were also glad to have the help of Suzan Callahan, Hailey Crozier, Meghan Gerdner, Suzanne Price, and Amanda Niehaus.

Toward the end of the day, we invited kids who wanted to answer the call, stand tall and give their all to stand and pray! Many of them did.  We are praying for fruit in the lives of these kids as the continue to grow and follow in God’s footsteps. We’re praying for their lives as they live seeking to follow Christ.
