What a great evening at The Crossing, a seminar for Worship Leaders and Teams, hosted on September 27 in Springfield, IL! There were 56 people who attended the event held at First UMC. My brother Jackson Price and I led the Five D’s of the worship leader process – Dedication, Development, Direction, Delivery and Debriefing. Jackson did a great job leading the opening session then we took a break for supper. Thanks to the team at Springfield First for their great cooking and hospitality! Everyone loved it. Following the meal, people assembled into small groups to discuss ways to apply the five D’s in their own ministries.
From there, we took a mini field trip into the sanctuary of the hosting church just to let people get ideas, ask questions, etc. We were grateful for Andrew and Eric for their leadership and hospitality in not only talking with people about what they do there, but also in hosting the event at their church.
After we took a break to look at the sanctuary, participants were invited to choose between two seminars. I led one on team development and Jackson led one on setting direction and planning. The night ended with large circle to close in prayer.
It was a fun and fast three and a half hours, but I felt the investment of time was worth it. There were about 10 churches represented there that night, and anytime leaders gather together, ideas are shared and ministries are sharpened.
If you would be interested in hosting The Crossing (or one of the other Harvest Conferences) at your church, contact us for a Host Church Requirement List. We’d love to connect with you (tim@harvestministryteams.com).
Another special thanks to Christine Fuesz who took care of the all the online registrations, publicity and booklets. Also, thanks to Suzanne Price for helping with registration and hospitality. And thanks to Sangamon River District for sponsoring the refreshments for the evening.
