The Benefit of Walking Uphill

Who invented “incline” on the treadmill?   It adds a whole new dimension to a morning walk. Its much harder work, you get tired more quickly and you can tell from the use of leg muscles that the walk is making more of an impact.  Walking uphill isn’t easy.  But in terms of a workout,  it does move you toward the goal more quickly.

This also applies to life. Facing uphill battles isn’t always the most fun, but it develops muscle, sharpens skill and makes you more of a fighter.  You need the flatland times of walking too – you’ve got to take it easy at some point.  But, it’s really in the battle of walking uphill that you grow.

What uphill challenge are you facing today?  It’s making you stronger.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. – Rom. 5:3-4
