Start Sleeping Great – By Tonight!

bed sleepYou can find sleep tips everywhere.  They range from setting a regular bedtime routine, to not eating in the evening, to making sure you have peace and quiet and a comfortable, supportive bed.

I recently heard one a concept for the absolute best way to get enough rest – beginning tonight!

Instead of thinking about resting from a hard day of work, think about resting to prepare for tomorrow.  A shuttle shift I know, but it’s been the best sleep tip I’ve ever heard.

When we change our mindset and begin resting and sleeping to prepare for a powerful day tomorrow, we move into active, offensive mode.  No longer do we wait until we are totally worn out to fall asleep in the evening, but we go to sleep at the right time in order to be our best in the morning.  If you need 7 or 7.5 hours of sleep, and you want to get up at 5 am, then you need to be in bed by 9:45 or 10:00 each night.

Since hearing this idea, I have been much more intentional about going to bed and falling alseep at a decent time.  Tomorrow is important and once we get into the rhythm of resting to prepare for tomorrow, we will have more energy, more focus and more productivity.
