Responding to Questions Like Jesus

questionsmarksPhilip Yancey made the observation that there were 153 times in Scripture where someone came up and asked Jesus a question.  147 of those times, Jesus responds with another question.

That’s a good model, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve experienced this, to some degree, when people come up and ask me a question about an instrument or about music after a concert or event.  Before I get into the answer, I almost always ask if they play music. And many times the conversation switches to what they play, instruments they own and experiences they’ve had.

Questions lead people, decisions and dreams to places that we could never get to otherwise.  They bring awareness, clarity and power as we search for answers.
