I’m grateful for the days we celebrate in the US that center around Christian leaders… MLK, St. Valentine, Jesus, etc. Today is the only national holiday for a US preacher – Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Here are a few quotes from him:
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
“I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
“Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.”
“A man who won’t die for something is not fit to live.”
“The time is always right to do the right thing.”
