Though it’s a generalization, I would say my favorite time of the day is real early morning. Here’s a glance at my typical routine – which happens about 4-5 days per week.
Somewhere between 5:00 and 5:15, I wake up and read scripture from the Bible on my phone. Then, I typically get up and head down to the tread mill for about 30 to 40 minutes. While on the treadmill, I generally read my Utmost For His Highest and then pull from a stack of books that I have down there, look at facebook or write down a list for the day. I also spend time praying.
Following that, at about 6:00 or 6:30 am, I open all the curtains and blinds in the living room. I then spend about 45 minutes to an hour writing – as a hobby. I haven’t always done that. In the past, I have spent that time working on other things. But for this season – the last couple of years, I have enjoyed writing down thoughts and posting them on my blog. I also write in my journal, which I have kept (on and off) since 1994. I typically write out prayers.
From there, I take a shower and then wait for one my little daughters to holler out or come into to the living room. We talk a little, then eat breakfast.
Different semesters change, but for this time, I’m off on Mondays, in the office by 7:00 on Tuesdays, by 9:30 on Wednesdays, by 9 on Thursday and Fridays.
I love other times of the day too, but my favorite is morning!
