Harvest Perspective – From Jessica

IMG_1012So far, this summer has been absolutely wonderful.  We’ve led worship at camps, churches and even Holiday World.  I am so blessed that God made it possible for me to serve this summer through Harvest. My two favorite things have been the mission oriented opportunities.  Through these weeks, I have had my call to youth ministry confirmed and have also sensed a call towards mission work.  I have always always stated Jeremiah 29:11 as my favorite verse, because God has to have a plan if I am to be in youth ministry.  I have run from the calling at times because of fear of not knowing anything about what I will do.  But that’s the miraculous part.  God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called!  The two places that meant the most to me were Omaha and Indianapolis.  In Omaha, we got to lead worship, teach kids and weed and plant a garden.  I really enjoyed seeing so many different aspects to missions.  In Indianapolis we got to be a part of a mission camp.  During this time, God reaffirmed my calling into youth ministry and placed a call for mission work on my heart.  This summer has taught me many things and opened up many possibilities for the future!
