Four Rules For Giving Recognition

It’s important for leaders to give recognition to those who are making a difference.  This is especially true for ministry leaders who are leading a volunteer organization. One big part of your role is to remind people they are making a difference.

Leaders must be comfortable with praise and reward.

This must be:

SPECIFIC: for something they’ve done.

NICE:  not rewarded with more work.

INDIVIDUAL: Share specific reasons, not just blanket praise.

PUBLIC: Give recognition in front of others – second-hand compliments.

Who do you need to recognize in your ministry today?
