Had the privilage of leading worship for the Christ UMC Student Ministry on Tuesday, September 20. Nick Turner and an awesome team of ministry leaders has the place hopping – in energy, relationships and organization. The middle school and high school groups meet separately from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. A block of worship music with the middle school students was first and the high school time was second. Nick, the youth pastor, spoke for the high school side, while the middle school did a video curriculum. I enjoyed getting to be a part of it!
In case you are interested, here was last night’s schedule for the high school students: leaders prayer (10 minutes), gather / check-in (20 minutes), welcome / ice breaker (10 minutes), supper (20 minutes – each students asked to give a $3 donation), worship (15 minutes), speaking (25 minutes), small groups ( 15 minutes), closing music / announcements (5 minutes). The middle school had their own similar schedule, which seemed to work just as well.
As I walked around and visited with some of the leaders, they all seemed dedicated to serving in that role week in and week out. It was an awesome night, a great group and fun to be with you all. Keep up the great work!
