“Christmas creates within us a more generous, loving, and kindhearted spirit.” I recently read an article about how Christmas does that more than any other season or day of the year.
I thought that was a great witness to the message of Christmas: Christ has come to change the world. Because of his birth – his coming among us – we can have a powerful joy that literally overtakes our culture’s entire attitude and action.
My prayer for Christmas is that it creates within us a desire …
- for holiness
- for God’s grace
- to live more in peace
- to love wholeheartedly
- to give more
- to serve more diligently
- to know and experience Jesus more personally
- to witness more boldly.
