I love when scripture can be attached to every day life. Once, when I was in kids choir back in 2nd grade, we had a song that said something about 10:10 being a smiley face (on a clock with hands). Then it went onto say, John 10:10 – I have come that you might have life and have life to the full. To this day, it’s amazing how many times I see 10:10 and remember that verse.
One time I heard someone say that you could take the book of proverbs and see a birthday verse. It doesn’t work for all birthdays, especially those later in the month, but it’s fun to do. As an example, if your birthday is July 7, you would look up Proverbs 7:7.
So, I decided to look up every chapter and verse in every book of the bible for my birth date, which happens to be June 12. Here are a few of those verses from the study:
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior. – Judges 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 6:12
I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. – 1 Timothy 6:12
These are a few of the verses when I did that search. When’s your birthday or another special date for you? This is a great way to attach scripture to every day life!
