5 Christmas Promises

YOU ARE LOVED

For God so loved the world – including you – he sent his only son, Jesus! Through him, for everyone who believes, our sins are forgiven and we have life everlasting!

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:21

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AFRAID

It’s as true today as it was for the shepherds. The list of things to be afraid of in our age is long, but have courage… Christ has come.

The angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!”

Luke 2

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

JOY HAS BEEN GIVEN

No matter what you’re going through – this news of Jesus with us brings a deep sense of joy. Life doesn’t have to be perfect, amazing or “what you thought it would be” to have the joy found in Christ and his coming to us.

I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.

Luke 2

And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah,
are not least among the ruling cities of Judah,
for a ruler will come from you
who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.

Matthew 2:6

JESUS IS WITH YOU

The beauty of the Christmas story is this simple fact – God with us. Emmanuel.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

AS WE SEEK, WE FIND JESUS

We hear it a million different ways – our culture is busy at Christmas. But God promises that as we seek Jesus, we find him. It may be a quieting of our lives and souls, or it may be an all-out frantic search for something to fill our lives and give us hope – something other than ourselves. Seek Jesus and experience this promise.

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Matthew 2:2

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33
