The Adventures In Advent Family Devotion Series
Looking for a way to focus on the season of Advent with your family? These four weekly Advent Devotions are designed for the whole family. Each devotion, available online (and PDF) once your purchase is complete, includes: Scripture, Story, Discussion Question, Song (mp3 format), Application, Activity, and Adventure.
Questions like: “What do you think it was like for your family before you were born?” help start the conversation about preparing for Jesus during Advent. Activities like creating a Joy Bucket. Get a basket or bowl with some slips of paper and write down, over the course of this week, everything that brings you joy. Later on, just for fun, read some of these things that bring joy, and the whole family can try and guess who wrote which ones!
We suggest using these devotions each Sunday afternoon through Advent, then there is a final small devotion for Christmas Day. The four sessions focus on Hope, Love, Joy and Peace, the four themes that each Advent wreath candle represents.
You will spend this season of waiting and expectation focused on actively sharing hope, living in peace, walking in joy, and living a life of love. Through the short devotions and scriptures, everyone in the family can join in the discussion. Through the activities and adventures, you can enjoy a hands-on aspect to focusing on knowing and sharing the love of Christ during this season.
Songs (mp3 files) included with this series of devotions include: There Is Hope, We Wait, You Alone, There is Joy, Come Thou Long, and Joy To The World.
